The Sew Necessary mini quilt pattern by Patch Abilities is a quick and fun project to express the sewing side.  A stack of folded fabric wrapped in ruler ribbon and topped with a classic tomato pin cushion can be used a way to save a few favorite fabrics or as a quick gift for a stitching friend.

This easy pattern uses raw edge applique techniques and can be finished with either hand embroidery, machine blanket, straight-line, or zig-zag stitch, or machine embroidered with appropriate design software and embroidery machines. The pattern has been written for either the trace method or to be used with personal cutting machines. The well written instructions also include complete binding instructions and basic hand embroidery instructions with complete diagrams and images.

These projects are quick to complete, and can be finished in a few hours.  This project finishes at 6" x 12".
